The NEW Waddle World Rulebook
Revision 7.0 - Friday, August 15, 2008

Welcome!
Welcome to Waddle World, whether you be old or new! Thank you for taking the time to read the rules.

Posting Policy
Note that by posting, you are agreeing to the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 Canada License. Please click the link for the agreement.

You are not allowed to spam or cuss in any way. The only place you can spam is the Spam Wave board hooked to General Chat, however, cussing is still not allowed there.

We do not generally accept any questions to become a WW Beta Tester or staff member, whether they be posted or by PM. Please see the sticky in the Help Desk for information on how to become a beta (you must also meet the requirements there), and you must be experienced, active, and/or be in the appropriate group to be a staff member. REMEMBER TO READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR DIRECTIONS BEFORE JOINING ANY OPEN GROUP, OTHERWISE IT IS FLOODING.

You are allowed to do "doubled posting," or making more than one post in a row on the same thread, just no more than 5 times or you will be asked to stop. Duplicate threads, or threads that are similar or exactly the same or reworded, are not allowed. If your computer messes up and you accidentally post two of the same posts or two of the same threads, remove them or wait for someone to remove them for you.

You are asked to refrain from bumping threads with last posts dating back to early April or previously.

When posting, you must make your posts at least 3 words or longer. One-word posts like "LOL" or "Nice" count as a rule violation and you will be asked to stop if you do this repeatedly. Note that images count as 3 (no matter the size or amount of text) and quotes add to the number of words in a post.

If you would like to participate in a forum game, please make sure you are following the rules. You may always ask for help if you need it. If getting something from a game shop/fan creation shop, you cannot act like it's free or act like you can get a lot of it. All shoppers that don't get an item from the owner that takes time to come within 3 weeks or a while after the time it is said to come are to be issued an immediate refund x2 from the owner's Game Sheet, and the shop will be closed if it is done multiple times. Also, if getting a fan creation that involves getting something picture and stat based (like a pet), you cannot add it yourself or make the store owner do it by force. Constantly asking the store owner will most likely make them make you wait longer if they decide to.

You are asked to refrain from fighting with other members and leaving rude or insulting messages, called flaming.

Don't ask stupid questions that were already answered, especially if they were answered tons of times already, it is considered spam. Use the search feature or look through the forums to see if they have already been answered.

Please do not post adult, racial, or sexual content. This also means you are not allowed to call people the N word nor are you allowed to post pornography of any kind.

As per above, online dating here or setting up meetings for cyberdates here is strictly forbidden.

Please do not "minimod," or be a "backseat mod." This is telling people what to do but are acting like moderators. Commanding to put a topic in the Wastebasket or to be moved, for example, is an example of minimodding. Please do not do this.

Respect other people's opinions. Please do not turn opinions into constant persuasions or flame wars either, as what happened with this thread (link). Don't also try to tell others to stop liking something just because it's not great in your opinion. Also don't bash other things because you like one single thing more. This is called fanboyism, and is spam and disruptive, and you could get infracted for it.

Do not post any copy-paste material on the board from other websites without permission from the owner (plagiarism), whether it's licensed or copyrighted. If you post copy-paste material without permission from the owner, your thread will be locked, and if you post copyrighted/licensed material, you will be infracted and have your thread locked. To show permission from the owner, you must have some kind of proof, such as a link. If the owner allows anyone to post it, post a link to the statement and quote it.

Feel welcome to post any video you want, regardless if it has cussing or violence, etcetera. Any videos with porn or something like that will be removed and are worth a doubled infraction. Remember when posting a video, you must give it an advisory warning, (effective Saturday, May 10) shown in the images below (you can, however, copy the image to the thread with the videos or put the rating in text):
- AP, All Penguins - It is okay for anyone and whole families to watch.
- PP, Parent Penguins - It is aimed at younger kids, but parental guidance is recommended.
- YP, Young Penguins - It is aimed at the little tikes, for example, if you posted an Elmo video, it would be suitable for little kids.
- TP, Teenage Penguins - It is aimed at preteens and teenagers.
- MP, Mature Penguins - The video contains moderate to heavy cussing etcetera and is aimed at older penguins.
Note that when posting a video in the Spam Wave, by PM, in your signature, or in the chatbox, you do not need to post an advisory. Also, videos that other people feel offensive, whether it has a rating or not, can ask to have the video removed, and it will be.

We have colour limitations here on the forum. Do not post in colours like white (white), alice blue (alice blue), and any other colours that nobody can read. If you do this, we will be watching you and you will be asked to stop if you continue. Still posting in the colours will earn you a 1/2 infraction (warning), continuous is an infraction.

Do not post in sizes below 8. This is size 8 and some people can't see below this size. If you do this, you will be asked to stop. Constantly doing this will be a warning, then infraction level if it continues.

When you report a post, make sure it is something against the rules and not pointless. If you send in faulty reports a lot you are abusing the report feature, and you can be banned for it.

Global Roleplay Rules
These rules apply directly to the roleplaying games in the Roleplay board.

You are allowed to make slightly similar roleplays to others, but please don't directly copy them, or you will be locked out of it. This rule does not apply when making roleplays similar to your own.

You cannot control other participants' characters within a roleplay. This applies to all roleplays. They call it ROLEplaying for a reason, you play YOUR role and nobody else's.

When in a roleplay, you must follow the rules specified by the roleplay owner. Please note that if a rule had to be violated by a user forcibly, the user that committed it cannot be warned for it. If he/she is, this is considered rudeness and spam and the owner could be locked out of the roleplay if this happens (see the 3rd to bottom paragraph for information on lockouts) and could also be infracted.

Extreme events are allowed in roleplays if allowed by the roleplay owner, but extreme events are not allowed to be a full aspect of the roleplay.

If you are posting but it has nothing to do with inside the roleplay, place it in spoiler tags or OOC, which means "Out of Character."

Unless it is just supposed to be an aspect of the roleplay, please do not spam or flame.

When making a roleplay, please make rules and directions or it will be closed.

If there is too much spam and rule violations in a roleplay, someone may temporarily lock it to cleanse the RP and send the spam to the Wastebasket. If it continues after the cleanse is over, your roleplay will be permanently locked.

If you are quitting a roleplay, do it in a polite way, like your penguin saying goodbye and leaving. If it is in the rules that you can't quit the roleplay, you cannot force users to stay. If this is caught in your rules, your roleplay will be locked and you will receive a warning.

If you have been committing spam or abusive actions on the forum, you will be locked out of your own roleplay. It will be moved to Closed Roleplays and will be given to someone else who volunteers to own it, and they then have full and total control over your roleplay, and have the right to change or modify anything.

Basically all forumers know how to roleplay. If you don't know how, you basically participate in a certain roleplay, abiding by the theme, using a character, and interacting with stuff in the roleplay and other players by posting in first-person (I ate some pizza) or third-person (-name- ate some pizza).

The main consequences for violating roleplay rules are warnings. If you have many warnings or are constantly disruptive, you may be excluded from the roleplay with your character taken out (the most common term for this is "kicking"). You may be out of the roleplay from temporarily (with a set time when you are allowed back in) to an indefinite or permanent kick.

Personal Information Policy
These rules are aimed at keeping everyone at Waddle World's privacy safe.

You can post your full name. However, we strongly discourage it. Someone could look your information up on a website somewhere and find out all of your personal details, like your phone number, etcetera.

Even though it is not safe and we do not encourage you to do so, putting a picture of yourself up here is allowed but should be done at your own risk.

Please don't forcefully ask for someone's personal details, whether it breaks these rules or not. If they do not want to post details you want, then respect their privacy and drop it. If you constantly ask for it until they give it, that's infringing their privacy and you will receive a doubled infraction if we catch you. Also note that disclosing personal information of others that they don't want posted is worth a doubled infraction as well.

Posting your address or phone number is dangerous and you could receive a doubled infraction for it without warning if you post it. You are allowed to post your town and state - that's it. Posting your school is allowed, but like the full name rule, we don't encourage it.

If you have a personal website, such as a MySpace or a website about yourself, you are allowed to put it up, so long as it doesn't have too much personal stuff on it (like an address).

Advertising Policy
This part of the rulebook tells you where, how, what to and what not to advertise.

You are only allowed to advertise in the Website field of your profile, your signature, and the Advertising board in the Off-Topic category. Should we find your website anywhere else you will be infracted.

You are not allowed to join the board only to advertise your website, whether you put it in your sig or the Advertising board. Doing so will result in an instant permaban and removal of your website's link.

If you have 3 infractions or more, you are not allowed to advertise your website anywhere, nor is anyone else allowed to advertise it for you.

If your website would like to affiliate with Waddle World, please make sure it has been in the Advertising board for at least 3 days and has a lot of comments, then PM me stating why you want to affiliate with us and where we will be advertised.

Account Rules
These rules are aimed at your account.

No duplicate accounts. Unless you are making a backup or test account, dupe accounts will be banned immediately and you will be infracted. If you have a permabanned account and do not have a current IP ban, you are welcome to register but you will be IP banned if you reach 3 infractions on your second account. Also, if you are trying to start fresh or are making a dupe account in disguise and are trying not to get caught, we will find you, so don't think about trying, and it will result in your dupe account being permabanned and your current account being instantly week banned.

Please do not make your name any bad words, e-mail addresses, web addresses, anything that has the word "hack" in it, or racial/sexual language. If this is found, your username will be changed (you will be e-mailed the new name), and you will be infracted.

Do not blame others for using your account, even if it is true. This is to prevent liars. Remember that we will count your punishments against your account and nobody else. If you do not want this to happen, and you have stubborn people in your family, we recommend you turn the auto login feature off and keep your password to yourself. If you are deliberately letting someone use your account, you will receive a 3-7 day ban.

If you have violated any rule(s), we have the right to take away the avatar, signature, private messaging, or any other feature you use. Please note that we can change your rank at any time to warn others of your actions and we will not tolerate any yelling or spamming regarding it.

Private Messaging Rules
Here are the rules aimed at the private messaging. We will take it away from you if you cannot follow these.

Do not violate any of the WW Rules in a PM. The receiver has every right to contact an administrator by PM and quote the message, if you continue, you will be banned. Also note that a lot of rules have been broken in PMs and not reported, but found out. If you are caught, you will lose your private messenger.

Member/Staff Blog Rules
There are only two simple rules: date your posts and follow everything in here accordingly.

WW Spam Barrier
We have a zero tolerance policy on spam. You will be warned/infracted if you are caught spamming since this place is ridden with over 60% of the posts here spam and we had to step in and stop it. We are only pushing this to the limit because of what you have done, spammers.

Closing
And there are the rules. Note that they are subject to change at any time so be sure to check for new revisions. Even if you violate a new rule without noticing it, you will receive the consequence stated whatsoever and we are not responsible.

Have a suggestion? Post it in the Forum Suggestions board in Moderation.

Thanks, and have fun on the forums!
