Before I get to the point... Happy July 1st!lol, now, we've been in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for almost a week (pronounced "soo saint marie") to see our relatives on my mom's side of the family, like my other grandparents whom we have not seen since 2006. The Sault, as I still remember it, is still a huge city, the residential streets are trapped by trees and have little traffic, the view from the international bridge is still great, the paper mill is still polluting, the Station Mall on Bay Street is still my favourite mall, and my uncle is still the mayor. Yep. Good ol' SSM. I'm pretty sure we're going to the waterfront tonight to see the fireworks. They're having some huge party or something. I'm using my grandpa's laptop. He has no clue how to use the damn thing and he always calls us for tech support back in Arizona, and it's really hard to explain stuff to him. He also bought some digital cable/high-speed Internet package, but both the Internet and computer are slow. There's no wireless and only one ethernet connection here, so I can't use my own laptop for Internet, but I have been making a lot of creations and some programs on it that I will show when my laptop has Internet again. http://maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF8&q=sault+ste+marie&ll=46.535957,-84.312859&spn=0.098483,0.350189&z=12A map of SSM for ya. Google is still racist against having Street View in Canada (you have it in France, Japan, and a bunch of third-world countries, but not Canada), so unfortunately you won't be able to see much. Cya.

Not sure. We're supposed to be back in Hibbing on the 3rd, but it'd sure be nice if we could see the fireworks there. Better yet, it'd be cool if we left on the fourth and got to Duluth by nightfall. It'd be pretty cool seeing them blast fireworks over Lake Superior. Also, I found a somewhat-slow wireless hotspot out here. At least I'm not in a dead zone anymore.

^ Irrelevant. If I'm going to be in Michigan, Ontario, about 100 miles of *northern* Wisconsin, and Minnesota, where the hell does Chicago come in?

Why would we go there just to see fireworks? We don't want to or have a very good reason to go there, it's far off the beaten path, and we don't intend on spending more money on this trip than we already are. Y'know how much it costs JUST to fly from Detroit to Sault Ste. Marie aboard a badly-maintained Saab 340? Yeah. Not good.

Well, flying to some far-off place just to see some fireworks is a waste of time and money. Just go up a hill or something close to your house and watch them from there. Well, my mom constantly keeps leaving to go to bingo games with her sisters and brother, and she told me last night that she wants to leave because grandma is mean to everybody a lot and wants to get out of the house, which I believe from past experiences. She's secretly planned that we are going to pack up and leave later today, but we'd only get halfway. We'd probably overnight in Munising, Marquette, Wakefield, Ironwood, or something. It's over 10 hours back to Hibbing, we wouldn't make it if we left even now.

When we left SSM, we actually left two days after that post. And we just left Hibbing today (even though it was rushed). We're in Story City, Iowa tonight. Guess what's coming? Huge severe thunderstorms. Hell sakes. Just what we need. I told my dad that the band of rain heading for Minnesota was going to break into two chunks and strengthen, but he didn't really seem to care.
