mconnell - CASE CLOSED

This mysterious chain of hackings by "mconnell" has come to a close, plus a solution.

When we first created the forum in September, Disguised R.N. for W58 and spudpie (Waddle50008 in disguise) came here seeking destruction of the forum. RN already had admin powers and kept insisting that "spudpie" was given access to the administration panel. However, until he actually revealed that he was Waddle50008 and got deleted by RN, he was a WW Trainee Admin.

Before he revealed himself, an admin account named "mconnell" was registered on the third day (September 7). Everything was changed from Waddle World to "mconnell's world." I got it fixed, as there was little damage. I demoted him to WW Newcomer, where he remained inactive until the end of September. He was admin again and deleted everything, with a note at the top left saying "YOUR PATHETIC." I successfully restored the forum and deleted his account. Not a week later in the beginning of October, the famous "October Hack" happened. mconnell screwed everything, demoted RN and Eyecie (the only admins at the time), and messed with the Forum Restore tool, making it impossible to fix this hack. We waited forever because Forumotion said they would help, but they wouldn't get up off their lazy arses and 2 weeks later, we were fixed, but we started fresh with 0 posts.

Then, in the beginning of December, I got to thinking - "mconnell" only hacked us when RN was an admin, which meant he probably was still doing Waddle's dirty work. After some investigation on other forums, they were being hacked by "mconnell" because an admin that was against the forum wanted to destroy the forum. So, I have come to the conclusion that "mconnell" doesn't exist, it was actually an account created by either Waddle or RN and made admin, and indeed "Mconnel" is actually a nice user, not a hacker in disguise.

I later got a PM from Chao19 (former admin) that "mconnell" is actually Waddle50008.

But that didn't make our forum invulnerable to hacks - not yet.

Soon after Christmas, our forum was hacked by a pornographist. I checked the admin panel today, and guess what double-crossing slimeball did that? CHAO19. IPs - match. Name - match.

So, I've concluded that this forum has NEVER been hacked, but instead:
RN - Spy, and abusing his admin powers to make "mconnell" (Waddle50008) an admin
"mconnell" - Waddle50008 in a straightforward, plotted revolt against us while we ignored him
Chao19 - Double-crossing porno-loving jerk.

So now, the Case of the Hacking = closed.

I was thinking of it like that... I should have told you what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. I noticed, too, that after RN was depromoted the hackings stopped. And the name "Disguised RN for W58" meant "Disguised spy for Waddle50008", and so it was very obvious. Notice, when we did the trick on Srenfro, he changed his username on his forum to "Disguised RN for J574"...
